EXCURSION IN THE LANDS OF THE GREEN HEART OF ITALY
The word used in the Central European and Anglo-Saxon world is walking. In Italian it is simply to take a hike or walk, but the meaning is always the same: to discover the world around us with peace and fun.
In the reading of the territory we have tried to identify four different topics.
The first related to the discovery of hills, large and small villages, castles and churches along a path, accompanied mostly by olive trees leads from Spoleto to Assisi.
The second is that we know a mystical Umbria and less known, shrouded in the history of ascetics, monks and friars.
The third related to the charm of an engineering feat: the ancient railway that connected Spoleto-Norcia with its tracks, so different territories between them.
The fourth activity is closely linked to the rural countryside of the valley of Spoleto ... and beyond.

The territory of Spoleto, and in particular, the entire area enclosed within this project, lend themselves particularly well to explore by bike and are an ideal place for all lovers of two wheels thanks to the presence of a long pedestrian path, primarily for roads little traffic and a great variety of landscapes, which in a narrow range of miles offers the opportunity to ride on sections completely flat or long uphill climb the Apennines. Not to mention that are enclosed in a limited geographic area outstanding natural beauty and an endless array of pearls artistic, cultural and religious, nestled between the city of Spoleto and the charming mountain villages in the area, but also scattered among the finest vineyards and olive groves these territories.
